From everyday spills to baked-on BBQ mess, cleaning isn’t confined to the kitchen. Some jobs need a quick wipe. Others need a little soaking time or a more hands-on scrub. Made in Australia, The All-Rounder Cleaning Powder gives you four ways to approach cleaning, without reaching for a different cleaner for every job.
Here are four ways to put it to work. For BBQ surfaces and components, check the manufacturer’s care instructions and the surface-care guidance below before choosing a method.
1. Everyday surface cleaning
For a simple wipe-down, sprinkle a light dusting onto a damp sponge or microfibre cloth. Wipe the surface, then rinse or wipe clean with fresh water.
This is the straightforward option when you want to clean directly, without mixing a spray first.
2. A soak for baked-on food
For scorched pots, baking dishes, or ovenware, add 1 tablespoon (approximately 15 g) of powder to 1 cup (250 mL) of hot water directly in the cookware.
Leave it to soak for one hour to help loosen burnt food, then rinse clean. It’s a useful way to give the mess some soaking time before you tackle it.
3. A scouring ball for oven floors
Mix 1 tablespoon (approximately 15 g) of powder with 1 teaspoon (approximately 5 mL) of cold water in a small bowl. Press the mixture firmly into a compact ball and flatten the base.
Wet the oven floor with water first, then use the flat base of the ball to scour the wet surface. Wipe away the loosened residue and finish with a clean, damp cloth.
Check your oven manufacturer’s cleaning instructions before using an abrasive cleaning method, particularly on coated surfaces.
4. An everyday surface spray
Dissolve ½ teaspoon (approximately 1.5 g) of powder in 2 cups (500 mL) of warm water inside a trigger spray bottle. Add one drop of eco dish soap and swirl gently.
Spray onto suitable benchtops, cooktops, and sinks, then wipe dry.
Refill your bottle, not your shopping trolley
Buying a new bottle of premade spray every time you run out adds up. At approximately 1.5 g of powder per 500 mL refill, a 350 g canister can make around 233 bottles of everyday surface spray when used exclusively for that purpose.
Replacing that many shop-bought sprays could mean hundreds of dollars in savings over time, depending on the price of the sprays you normally buy and how much you use. If your usual eco spray costs more, the potential savings are greater still.
Reuse your trigger bottle and mix a refill when you need it. Your total cost also includes the drop of eco dish soap in each batch, water, and a suitable bottle if you don’t already have one. Using the powder for soaking or scouring will reduce the number of spray refills each canister makes.
A few surface-care essentials
Always rinse or wipe surfaces clean with fresh water after using the powder directly. The All-Rounder is not recommended for natural stone, plastic, wood, or uncoated aluminium. If you’re unsure about a surface, check its care instructions before cleaning.
Keep the powder’s container closed and store it in a dry place.
A simpler cleaning routine starts with choosing the right method for the mess and the surface. A light dusting, a soak, a scouring ball, or a spray: four ways to put the same powder to work, beyond just the kitchen.
