The Founder Story
Small Batch & Made with Care. Welcome to Yeronga Kitchen Lab. My name is Alice, and I started this journey with a very personal mission: to help my own family, and yours, eat cleaner and live more sustainably.
That mission was crystallised for me through the extraordinary wildlife encounters I have been lucky enough to experience. Swimming alongside manta rays and sea turtles at the Great Barrier Reef, watching long-nosed fur seals at Admiral's Arch on Kangaroo Island, learning about the southern right whales and the little penguin colony at Middle Island in Warrnambool, watching the famous penguin parade at Phillip Island, spotting platypus in the wild rivers of Tasmania, and witnessing humpback whales making their annual migration past the Queensland coast every August — these moments filled me with awe and a profound sense of responsibility. What we have here is truly precious, and it is worth protecting.
It made me think carefully about what we send down our drains every single day. The water that leaves our homes doesn't just disappear — it flows into our creeks, our rivers, and eventually out into the ocean. Every cleaning product we use, every chemical we wash away, makes that journey. That realisation changed everything for me, and it became the foundation of every decision I make at Yeronga Kitchen Lab.
Why the "Kitchen Lab"?
I formulated my very first product in my home kitchen—and the name Kitchen Lab reflects that spirit of discovery. It represents a commitment to constant refinement: testing, perfecting, and getting the science right before a single product reaches your hands. I spend my time sourcing high-quality ingredients to ensure that everything we develop—from our Clean-Tucka produce wash to our growing range of eco-friendly home and kitchen products—is as safe for your family as it is kind to the Earth.
Each product starts as an idea and undergoes rigorous testing. I'll be honest—my family serves as the primary "beta-testers." They are the first to try every formulation, and their honest feedback shapes every product in our range. We never test on animals—just a very patient household that has learned to expect the unexpected from my lab.
Our Ingredients
Finding the right ingredients is where it all starts. We do our very best to source Australian ingredients first and foremost — supporting local suppliers and keeping our footprint close to home. Where an Australian option isn't available or doesn't meet our standards, we carefully select the best quality ingredients from overseas. I'm very selective about what makes the cut—if it isn't something I'd feel safe using around my own family, it doesn't go into a Yeronga Kitchen Lab product.

As a creator, I handle every step of the process personally. When you buy from Yeronga Kitchen Lab, you are receiving a product that has been hand-crafted, carefully packaged, and made with the same care I use for my own family.

Our Packaging Commitment
At Yeronga Kitchen Lab, we are guided by a simple philosophy: reuse and recycle. We believe the most sustainable package is one that gets a second life — and we design our choices around that principle.
We are actively working towards packaging that is fully recyclable or compostable, and we strongly encourage you to reuse our containers, bags, and labels wherever possible. Currently, we are in a transitional phase — some of our existing stock still uses older materials, and rather than discarding it wastefully, we have made the conscious decision to use it up responsibly as we phase it out.
As we move forward, we are gradually replacing all packaging with sustainable alternatives that reflect our reuse-and-recycle values. Thank you for your patience and support as we take these steps together.
