Scientific research indicates that hitting a target of approximately pH 9.2 significantly accelerates the decomposition of common surface-level agricultural chemicals through a process called alkaline hydrolysis.

Wax Removal: This calibrated range helps loosen the "rain-fast" waxes used by growers on the skin of produce, allowing them to be rinsed away more easily than with water alone.

  • Surface Action Only: Our product is designed specifically to treat the exterior of your fruit and vegetables; it cannot reach what is inside the fruit. For these, we always recommend choosing organic where possible!
  • This product cannot reach or remove systemic elements that have been absorbed into the plant tissue or internal flesh.
  • Buffered for Safety: Carefully calibrated to be powerful on the surface, yet gentle on your produce and your hands.

Natural Bloom vs. Added Wax: Clean-Tucka helps loosen wax on fruit and vegetables. However, it will not remove the "Natural Bloom"β€”the dusty, waxy-looking coating found on fruit like blueberries, plums and grapes. This bloom is the fruit's own natural protection and is perfectly safe to consume.

To reach the ideal pH range, follow these simple steps:

  1. Fill: Fill your bowl or sink with fresh water.
  2. Add: Sprinkle 1 heaped teaspoon of Clean-Tucka powder for every 500ml to 3 Litres of water.
  3. Soak: Submerge produce for 12–15 minutes (max 20 mins). Note: For delicate items like berries, a 3–5 minute quick soak is sufficient.
  4. Rinse: Always finish with a fresh water rinse before serving.

πŸ§ͺ Lab Tip: After stirring, wait 2 minutes before testing your pH. Chemistry takes a moment to stabilise; you will see the pH "climb" to its full strength during this short wait.

Water is a living ingredient. Whether you use mineral-rich Brisbane tap water or high-purity filtered water, Clean-Tucka is engineered to adapt.

  • Tap vs. Filtered: Local tap water is naturally "buffered" with minerals. We've balanced our proprietary blend to "punch through" this resistance. If you use filtered or barista water, you may find the powder dissolves even more efficiently.
  • Safe Handling: Do not put a wet spoon inside the packet. Do not touch powder with wet hands. Wash your hands after use.
